Welcome to the Athletes Appetite! I cannot wait to bring you along with me on this journey. I have always enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. In the beginning my passion was derived from my love of food. When I was about 3 years old I was diagnosed with celiac disease and my family had to learn to be a little more creative with what we ate. This meant even more experimenting in the kitchen! Over the years we learned how to make gluten-free food just as good as “normal food”. Then I joined a year round swim team and food became even more important. As I got older I learned the massive impact nutrition can have on an athletes performance. Over the past couple of years as I have continued improving I’ve been asked by many what I eat. I’ve never had an amazing answer to that question because I believe that hard work pays off more than anything else. However, I have recognized the impact of good and bad nutrition in my workouts. Whenever I eat poorly following a big competition, I always get sick. Whenever I eat poorly while swimming and working out a lot I get sick. But even better, when I eat great in the months leading up to a competition, I do amazing! Through this blog my goal will be to share recipes and tips to athletes all around the world who want to eat amazing food while prepping their bodies to do amazing things.
I’ll see you soon!
